A friend that visits the board called after reading "Don't Forget to Breath" and asked what a
Podcast was. Thought I would take a minute to explain.
A Podcast is like a radio show that anyone can do and "broadcast" over the internet. No fancy recording studio or expensive broadcast towers required.
All you need is a microphone - the one included in webcams will suffice - and a website to host your audio recordings to make them available for others to download.
Of course there are professionals like Leo Laporte that have fancy studios and make impressive podcasts.
I download podcasts with iTunes, transfer to my iPod and listen to them at the gym.
My favorites are Leo Laporte "The Tech Guy". Leo has several podcasts - this is my favorite.
"Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" on NPR radio
And
"Len Tillem Program Podcast" a local lawyer that has an entertaining radio show.
If you use iTunes select "Podcasts" from the left side menu and do a search. No iPod - Google the titles and download the MP3's to your desktop. Most radio shows and some TV shows have podcasts of their original broadcast available for download.
Any more suggestions for Podcasts?
