I actually encountered was I'm certain was a fake cop once as a teen.

I'll leave out a lot of the boring details;
I was on my way to my early AM job at McDonalds (about 5 AM) and had what looked like a cop flag me down.

He approached me and asked me where I was going. I told him I was headed to work and he could see I was in my McDonald's uniform.
He quickly let me go on my way but there were a lot of screwy things about him that didn't make sense (such as the fact he was just driving a normal car).

A few days later it appeared in the news that a guy dressed like a cop was robbing people at gunpoint in the wee hours of the morning in the exact area I had been stopped in!

To this day I believe that when he say my fast-food uniform he decided I wouldn't have any money so he didn't bother robbing me!

I can remember way back when a liberal was one who was generous with his own money.
